Personality
Inglorious is one classic looking beast of a colt. From the time he was a baby, Glory always stood out in the field as a looker. He has his mother's bulky body type and the sharp intelligent head of his sire's and he always seemed ages ahead of his cohorts in his younger days. The bay colt was a knockout from the start and he knew it. He'd trumpet and challenge any young colt any day to a fierce battle of halter tag and he'd often win because the other horses simply couldn't keep up with his boundless energy. Inglorious is always on his toes, even now as a full racehorse, keeping an eye on everything going on around the property. The staff nicknamed him The Sheriff because of his need to always be nosy and in everyone's business all the time. If he could talk, you know he'd report the fact that Matt dumped the wheelbarrow in the barn on accident... again. Glory is a quieter personality with humans than either of his parents and seems to take their attention for what it's worth. No way is he going to turn away a yummy snack to sulk at the back of his stall.
Although, Glory is not the largest horse of his crop, he is also not the most agile horse out of the gate. Too busy looking around and fidgeting for his own good, Inglorious is always likely to be one of the slowest out. He's pretty quick to pick up the pace, feeling the urgency as the pack races away from him to set the fractions. Due to his style, Glory will be found at the back of the main pack. He's too efficient in his striding to be out of touch with the deep closers and he often gains ground through the race. Every time that the race caller says his name, Glory is likely to be in a different position than the last time. By the far turn, Glory will be running with a full head of steam, likely on the far outside. Although not ideal, Glory seems to embrace the challenge of circling everyone and running the farthest in the field. His finishes are always scintillating down the lane as he closes with a flourish to stun the leaders with his very own victory at the wire. |
