personality
There is no more fitting label for Screaming Mimi than the Black Widow. The filly has an absolutely poisonous attitude to her. She doesn't tolerate humans very much, hates being caught and is only fond of horses with an attitude exactly like her. Her neighbor in the 20 stall racing barn is Dazzling Dame if that says anything. The pair of dark fillies will aim hate filled glares in the direction of the human, a mutual warning to stay back or prepare for a fight. The black filly is gigantic and tough, with a huge rump and strong shoulders. She is not afraid to use those knife-like limbs and hooves of hers either. She squeals and cries, throwing challenges to every horse in the barn. She's almost stud-like in her behavior. She'll trot and strut, claiming that she is the boss. Fiery Touch is more than happy to hand the leadership reins over to the less experienced filly. She doesn't want any part of the destructive behavior that Mim's possesses. So with that, Mims is the Queen and the Black Widow, Hell on Wheels or hooves. She's in charge and even makes the stallions and colts cow to her leadership. Surprisingly, the horses are much better behaved. Red and Midtee no longer fuss when they're in the barn, provided Screaming Mimi is there with her hammer leadership. Brooks, Maggie and Ripley admire the filly's need to be in control in every situation, but they can't stand her disobedience. She will fuss on the line and kick or buck, pull you over to grass. She is the boss and she knows it. The black filly is a dragon when you fight with her. So Maggie has learned not to fight at all. Force doesn't work with the Crescential mare. Mimi has to go out to the track twice a day in order to keep her calm and not so destructive. Maggie has developed a way of riding the filly so that it seems to Mim's that she is the one making the decisions. Mims will strut over the track, but surprisingly she doesn't put up a fuss. She goes about her business, a black tornado whipping around the track. She loves to work and run. She is the ultimate challenger when it comes to stretch running. The cobalt filly plays expressively at the back of the pack after breaking from the gate, which she goes into willingly. She doesn't lollygag, she picks up speed and slows down as if challenging an invisible rival. Maggie keeps a light touch at all times on the reins. No one can force the issue with Screaming Mimi, or you won't be having a good time. As the stretch nears, Mims will immediately lift her head, flare her nostrils and ease into a quicker speed, no longer playing games. The black filly will really get rolling on the turn, big body spread out almost sideways on the track. The suddenly she'll shoot right on by, whether inside, through the pack or steamrolling from the outside of the field. The black filly has a passion for closing. She relishes in it. The second she gets by all of her rivals, Mims will immediately pick up a nice long-strided gallop, rather than sprinting. She makes the run look so much easier than it actually is, so effortless. It's about time a power like this returns to the track.
